You can optionally choose for a lift axle on the first axle of your trailer. When empty or almost empty, the 1st axle is lifted so your tyres wear less and consume less fuel. The lift axle ensures that the bellows are bled so you have less traction and therefore drive away more easily. Whenever possible, the trailer automatically lifts the wheels of the front axle. The front axle puts the most load on your king-pin wheel when driving empty.

A lifted axle:

  • Reduces fuel consumption
  • Reduces tyre wear
  • Is more manoeuvrable
