Folding bumper, a new innovation from Kraker Trailers

Ease of use and driver safety are important aspects in the development of the moving floor trailers. The new folding bumper is a good example of this as Kraker takes transport efficiency to the next level. Gert Vlastuin Transport underlines this fact.

Folding bumper makes unloading in a bunker easy

Many drivers are familiar with the problem: you have to unload above a bunker or a chute, but the rear bumper is in the way. This is especially true now that the bumper has been positioned even lower and further back due to the new regulations. Often there are also bumper blocks or a high edge in place around these unloading points, which makes it even more difficult. The Kraker folding bumper offers a practical solution as it provides about 15 cm extra free height in the folded position. Another advantage is that the folded bumper is outside the unloading area. This also protects the bumper and the lighting during unloading, and no material is left behind. You operate the bumper manually with a button on the side of the trailer. The bumper is lifted pneumatically. Folding up the bumper, in combination with the air suspension in the highest position if necessary, puts your K-Force right above the bunker. You can then easily unload the cargo. This option makes it even easier to work with your K-Force.

Gert Vlastuin BV

Gert Vlastuin Transport BV transports a variety of products, ranging from bulk agricultural products to palletised goods. Their drivers have to unload above a bunker on a daily basis. That is why this carrier opted for the new bumper.

Gert Vlastuin is already very familiar with moving floor trailers. His company was founded in 1986 and the first moving floor trailer was introduced in 1987. Gert explained: "Initially when we started using moving floors, we got a lot of attention. Not everyone understood the concept. But fortunately that is behind us already. Nowadays, the multifunctional application of a moving floor is well-known. I currently have 22 moving floor trailers in my fleet. The 6 Kraker trailers that we recently bought are K-Forces with a steel chassis and a folding bumper."

Gert has been acquainted with Kraker for a long time already. "I met Jan at a trade fair. I have always followed what Kraker is doing. When I decided to order a series of new trailers, I chose Kraker. I wanted trailers with a steel chassis, which is exactly what the K-Force has. I believe that the structure of the Kraker steel chassis reduces the risk of pollution. I also wanted the new folding bumper. We expect that it would cause less damage during unloading. It's also very convenient, you simply flip a switch.”  Gert believes in the K-Force concept: "I think they are very strong, flexible trailers."

When Gert makes a new purchase, he thinks it over carefully first. "I look for functionality and convenience in my work, so that is why I chose interior lighting in the trailer. This makes it easier to work with in the evening as well. I also opted for a thicker floor and wear plates.” Reading this, it is only logical that Gert Vlastuin chose K-Force, the strongest moving floor trailer on the market.
