Get ready for the 2023 beet campaign

Which trailer you choose depends on the products you transport

In most European countries, the beet campaign runs from September to February, which means that the 2022 sugar beet campaign has just come to an end. At Kraker Trailers, we will be looking into the reports from drivers who drove in the 2022 campaign with their moving floor to include that in K-Force Agri modifications over the coming months. This way we can ensure that the K-Force Agri will be ready for the '23/'24 season that exactly matches the requirements.

The advantages of K-Force Agri from Kraker Trailers

Kraker Trailers has a range of trailers, each with their own specific features, to suit a particular field. K-Force Agri is a good example of this. Do you mainly transport agricultural products, or do you often load at farmyards? If so, it could well be worth looking into K-Force Agri's capabilities. As you are no doubt aware, the K-Force series is not welded, but largely assembled with screw joints. K-Force Agri is now also built using this process developed by Kraker Trailers. This results, among other things, in a low tare weight, which is very positive in combination with agricultural products, which are often heavy.

The K-Force Agri moving floor trailer is available in different sizes, but it is nevertheless shorter than the standard K-Force. This makes K-Force Agri highly manoeuvrable, which comes in handy when loading in farmyards, which are often cramped for space.

K-Force Agri has less volume because agricultural products have a higher specific weight than many other products. Example: 70m3 of beets is heavier than 70m3 of sawdust. This makes agricultural products (potatoes, beets, carrots, etc.) a heavy transport product.

When transporting products with such a high specific weight, the permitted maximum total mass is quickly reached. That means you can never fully load a standard K-Force with beets, because that will simply be too heavy. K-Force Agri with its variable dimensions is perfectly suited for this type of transport.

All in all, K-Force Agri offers an impressive range of benefits:

  • low net weight, without compromising on quality
  • no danger of toppling over, which means maximum safety for you and those around you
  • high manoeuvrability, which is particularly advantageous on often cramped farmyards
  • maximum load factor through the option of carrying return loads
  • multi-purpose use, even after the conclusion of the sugar beet campaign

Moving floor trailers make tippers obsolete in the beet campaign

Tippers used to be the accepted norm for the beet campaign, but more and more carriers are making the switch. The main reasons include safety for you as a driver and your surroundings and the maximum load factor, as described above. With a tipper there is always a tipping risk, due to the uneven distribution of the cargo and therefore an uneven weight when unloading. Tippers also always require height to unload, which therefore limits the deployment area. A moving floor trailer does not need any height to unload, which is a big advantage in low sheds, for example.

Another major advantage is that your moving floor trailer can also generate returns after the beet campaign as it can be used for transport that is not possible with a tipper. This finally makes a vehicle that sits unused in storage for some time a thing of the past.

Options on K-Force Agri

As with any type of Kraker trailer, there are a variety of options to choose from for your K-Force Agri that will make your job easier and safer in agricultural transport.

Frequently selected options include an automatic roller tarpaulin, a quick-release fastener, a high-pressure washer, a pneumatic floor tarpaulin, a viewing pane and a service door in the bulkhead. More recently, you can also add the folding bumper developed by Kraker. This bumper offers a practical solution to height differences when used in the field and, when folded, provides ±15cm extra free ground clearance. The folded bumper also protects the lights while unloading. Folding up the bumper, in combination with the air suspension in the highest position if necessary, puts your K-Force Agri right above the unloading point.

Naturally, we would also be happy to help you find a solution to specific issue you may have. It seems like the 2023 beet campaign is still far off, but it will be here before you know it.
