The Reuss Group is a loyal Kraker customer that has been purchasing Axelse sliding floor trailers for many years. Georg Reuss, founder of the company, looks back on the history that Reuss and Kraker Trailers have built together.
Fast, reliable and efficient
The Reuss Group has two locations: in Eisenach and in Liezen. This strategic positioning enables the Reuss Group to guarantee rapid and flexible transport for bulk goods and round timber throughout Germany. The Reuss fleet is used, among other things, to supply biomass power stations.
The Reuss Group attaches great importance to personal contact with customers, fair prices and open communication.
On Saturday from Axel to Hessen
“One day, I received a call from a Dutchman who wanted to sell me a sliding floor trailer. At the time, I was still driving myself and was away from home for a whole week. So I told Jan that I was interested, but that I only had time on Saturday afternoon at 3 pm. To be honest, I didn't think Jan would really bother to travel all the way to Hessen just to maybe make an offer,” Georg Reuss begins his story.
“On Saturday afternoon, I came home, tired from a week on the road. Then my wife said, ‘Look, there's a car with Dutch number plates stopping here.’ To my surprise, it was really there. That was the start of a long-term collaboration.”
‘You have to buy a trailer from a guy like that.‘
Georg says that one of the reasons he bought a sliding floor trailer from Kraker Trailers is precisely because Jan got in his car and drove to Hessen. I thought, ‘You have to buy a trailer from a guy like that.’
It wasn't just a business relationship; Georg says that a friendship also developed between Jan and him. “We did a lot of business together over the years. Among other things, we bought sliding floor trailers with a system that allowed us to suck up wood chips and fill the trailers. That was a novelty at the time.”
It was also very important to Reuss that the sliding floor trailers could as well be used to transport all kinds of return loads, something that was not possible before.
Admiration for courage
When Jan told Georg about K-Force, he was sceptical. Reuss preferred welded vehicles to the new bolted ones. “It took a while for Jan to convince me that this concept really worked. I admire Jan for his courage in developing K-Force, for daring to invest in a completely new trailer.”
In addition to business transactions, Georg also has fond personal memories of Jan, which mean a great deal to him. “Jan once welcomed our classic car club to his home in Axel. We spent a wonderful evening in Ghent, and people in our club still talk about it.”
“But,” Georg continues, ‘Jan, don't forget that we made another arrangement. We were going to spend another pleasant evening together with our wives in Ghent. I promise you that we will come to Axel before the end of the year. I look forward to seeing you again.”
Strong bond between Reuss and Kraker
“Our business relationship is also strong...”
Reuss's latest purchase was a K-Force with a number of options: aluminium rims, a 7 mm X-treme durable floor, folding bumper, Rollfix, water tank, camera and a special roof.
On behalf of the Reuss Group, I wish Kraker Trailers all the best for the future and hope that you will continue to enjoy great business success. If I had to sum up Kraker in one sentence, it would be: ‘You are a fantastic team!’
