Emmar grows with Kraker Trailers

Emmar was founded on 1 April 2020, offering a suite of services that had absolutely nothing to do with transport. Read on to find out how Emmar ended up in the transport sector and became a major player in such a short amount of time.

From services to transport

"From April 2020 to July 2023, Emmar provided accounting, office, and consultancy services. I’m an accountant," explains Kamila, who co-owns Emmar with her husband, Tomasz.

The pivot to the transport sector came when Tomasz left his job at a waste management company in Kraków in July 2023. The couple then decided to focus together on waste processing and management services, as they felt the industry could do things better.

"Since then, Emmar has been an active partner in managing waste streams. We collect waste from sorting facilities across Poland and export it to overseas recycling companies. These are primarily secondary raw materials, such as plastics."

Emmar experienced rapid growth and development. To avoid relying on others, they decided to invest in their own trucks and, consequently, trailers. In December 2024, Emmar bought its first truck. Tomasz was already well acquainted with Kraker Trailers, so when they were looking for moving floor trailers, the choice was an easy one. All it took was one visit to TrailerTec in Sieradz, and Emmar’s first K-Force was a reality. Kamila and Tomasz opted for a used 2014 K-Force. The trailer was in excellent condition, and Kamila notes that even to this day, the vehicle remains 100% reliable.

Emmar continued to grow, customers came flocking in, and once again, Kamila and Tomasz faced the decision of whether to invest. "We bought another tractor unit and, naturally, another Kraker moving floor trailer. By April 2024, we were already up to two vehicle combinations. Although Tomasz always said he 'didn't want to do transport', our fleet of Kraker moving floor trailers just kept growing.

We went on to buy three more new Kraker trailers, two of which feature a folding rear bumper. The trailers have completely lived up to our expectations."

Heavy waste places high demands on trailers

Since Emmar primarily transports heavy waste, wear plates are welded to the trailer’s side walls. This ensures that the trailer’s walls remain undamaged and are protected against wear and tear during loading with forklift trucks.

Kamila continues: "We operate every trailer using wireless remote controls, which work flawlessly. Hats off to Kraker!"

She sums it up well: "The quality of the trailers, along with the service and maintenance provided by Kraker Trailers, is of an exceptionally high standard. That’s why we absolutely recommend Kraker to our fellow business owners."

"At present, we have eight vehicle combination units, which cover an average of around 12,000 km a month. Besides Tomasz and myself, there are another 12 people working at Emmar. We continue to grow and currently we have a vacancy for a logistics coordinator."

"As I mentioned earlier, we mainly export packaging waste, so the loads our Polish vehicle combinations carry are the waste we’ve purchased from Polish waste processing facilities.

We operate primarily in and to Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Slovakia, Czechia, Lithuania, Latvia, Austria, and Switzerland. We deliver our loads in these countries and pick up new cargo for the return journey to Poland. I think we’re one of the few companies that do so little cabotage. We mostly organise direct return runs to Poland, but occasionally we have to carry out cabotage or transit runs between other countries. Our return loads are varied And include general cargo, scrap metal, aluminium, and packaging waste, as well as products like peat and woodchips."

"We have modern Euro 6 emission standard tractor units and, above all, Kraker trailers, which look incredibly smart. Our trailers are liveried in our corporate branding, making us recognisable from a distance. Our image is very important to us, which is why we pay close attention to the details."

Top-notch sales and service

Kamila mentioned earlier that Tomasz already had contacts at Kraker from his time with his previous employer. "We have found that both Kraker's sales and service departments in Poland are of a high standard. We’re very happy and have no regrets about choosing Kraker. Hopefully the trailers we’ve purchased will serve us well for many years to come," Kamila concludes.
